2013 is looking bright... with stops at at Sundance Film Festival in January and Promotion in Austin during SXSW in March as well as a midwest/east tour in the works... Stay tuned... Good things are coming!
Jami, Kim Michalowski, Hillary Fonda Webb singing with Peter Himmelman on the main stage at the Rocky Mountain Folks Fest...and Jami, Bella and Neko Case...
Jami's new album, Big Black Birds (released Aug 2011 on Awnry Girl Records) ... Inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven, Big Black Birds is about the conversations between Jami and the black birds that followed her all over Colorado, California, Thailand and Indonesia while she was writing this album. Produced by Jami and Eben Grace and features guest apperance of long time friend, Chris Funk of The Decemberists on moog, lap dulcimer and guitars on the Wilco-esque track Raincloud .
In addition Jami made use of the vast talent pool of amazing players around Lyons,Colorado like Todd Patrick Livingston (Hit and Run Bluegrass, Missy Raines, Ralph Stanley jr), Jack Leahy (Gregory Alan Isakov, Paper Stars), Ian Morlock, Greg McRae, Eben Grace and Brian Schey...
There's nothing else coming out of Colorado that sounds like Jami Lunde... She's in a category all her own.
A world traveled alt country troubadour , Lunde parks it in Colorado with some local lumanaries with national reputations and turns in the set that people who would like a Lucinda Williams that speaks to a younger generation have been looking for. With consice, hard hitting lyrics leading the way, this is one of those indie album that sneaks up and blows you away. A welcome new vecor in Americana for sure.' Midwest Entertainment Report
After a fall 2011 national tour, a 2012 stop at SXSW and lots of regional shows, Jami is keeping her foot on the gas and looking for as many listening rooms and venues to play as possible... Stay Tuned.
